Pentium III-S 1.4 GHz socket 370 reference system
I am using the AOpen MX3S-T with Intel 815E B-step chipset and Japanese capacitors. It is a very stable board and I have used for many of my projects without problems.
I use the latest BIOS version 1.11c which can be downloaded from here.
Turbo default settings. Then I disabled the serial ports, parallel port, sound card, network card, floppy drive, floppy controller and game port,
Intel Pentium III-S 1.4 GHz SL6BY with Tualatin core, 512 KB Cache and 133 MHz FSB. This processor is very fast, beating similarly clocked Pentium 4 processors.
I am using a single VDATA 512 MB SDRAM RAM.
For this reference system a modern 2 TB Samsung SATA hard drive is used. Using SeaTools I limited the capacity to 32 GB. I also set a jumper to limit SATA speed. A IDE to SATA adapter is used to connect the drive to the motherboard. Make sure you enable DMA in device manager for a performance boost. Performance is excellent and I can quickly insert the drive into a USB docking station for rapid transfer of larger files. Below are some photos and screenshots of this storage solution.
