Sound Blaster Basic drivers. These will unpack. You can then copy the files onto a floppy disk, or, and this is what I do, a sub-directory on your hard drive. I put them in C:\DRIVERS\SBBASIC.

Required for all PnP Sound Cards. These will unpack. You can then copy the files onto a floppy disk, or, and this is what I do, a sub-directory on your hard drive. I put them in C:\DRIVERS\CTCMBBS.
After running INSTALL from the SBBASIC drivers, the installation program will ask you for the location of these CTCM drivers. |
Sound Bank files for the AWE supporting Sound Cards
These are the Creative Sound Bank files that you can use with the MPU-401 emulation of AWE supporting Sound Cards. In supporting games this will give you General MIDI and MT-32 emulation. Note that the MT-32 emulation is only compatible with the standard MT-32 instruments, like The Secret of Monkey Island. it doesn't support complex MT-32 implementations like Wing Commander or Space Quest III.

Windows 95 and 98
Latest driver updates for Windows 95 and 98. It is highly recommended to install these!
Drivers for Windows 95 and 98 MS-DOS mode. These will unpack. You must study the README file carefully and follow every step. The important thing to note is that with Windows 95 and 98 you manage the resources under Windows, MS-DOS mode will then use these resources.
