Sound Blaster PCI 128
The Sound Blaster PCI 128 is based on the Ensoniq AudioPCI. What happened? Well, Creative bought Ensoniq and rebranded the Ensoniq AudioPCI into Sound Blaster PCI 128. They did change the drivers, adding Sound Blaster 16 compatibility, instead of just Sound Blaster Pro. They also dropped native Ensoniq support, just select General MIDI in DOS games.
Their biggest flaw are the lack of FM synth. The General MIDI synth is used to emulate FM and it sounds horrible.
However, for DOS games, if you stick with newer games from around 1992, supporting General MIDI, compatibility is surprisingly good.
