Sound Blaster AWE 32
Drivers

Windows 98 + MS-DOS Prompt. Windows 98 will install drivers automatically, but I recommend to then install these updated drivers. Remember that with Windows 98, resources are set through Device Manager and not through DOS tools such as CTCU! Whatever resources you set in Device Manager will be used in the MS-DOS Promt and also when rebooting into MS-DOS mode.

These are drivers for when you reboot into MS-DOS mode. There is no installer, so carefully read and follow the instructions in the README file to set everything up. I recommend creating a BATCH file for this, like AWE32.BAT that you can then run when needed, or launch from your AUTOEXEC.BAT. You will also need the Plug and Play Configuration Manager CTCMBBS.

This is my SBAWE.BAT batch file. Place this in the root directory of C: together with the SBAWE sub-directory. Run SBAWE.BAT to initialise your Sound Blaster AWE32 or 64.

These are the DOS drivers for a pure DOS installation, usually MS-DOS 6.22. DO NOT use these drivers if you have Windows 98 SE installed, even in MS-DOS mode. You need the drivers one section above.
Unzip both files into folders or onto separate floppy disks. Run INSTALL from SBBASIC and follow the prompts. It will ask for the CTCM files during the installation, so be sure to unzip those as well, either into a directory, or a second floppy disk. |

Sound Bank files for General MIDI, General Synth and Roland MT-32 emulation in combination with AWEUTIL. Make sure the MPU-401 MIDI Emulation is activated through the jumper on your sound card and your motherboard needs to support NMI (Non Maskable Interrupt).
